Summary: We process PDFs you choose to convert. Files and results are stored briefly to complete conversion and allow download, then deleted. We do not sell data or use it for ads.
The Extension
- Uploads PDFs or fetches the PDF URL you provide for conversion
- Generates cryptographic keys in your browser; the server issues a random device identifier to authenticate requests
- Stores your settings locally in the browser and syncs them if you enable Chrome sync
- Shows only the latest conversion tasks (up to 3) in the UI
- Uses signed requests to prevent tampering
Information We Process
- PDF files, file names, and URLs you submit for conversion
- Converted Markdown output (stored temporarily for download/preview)
- Device identifiers and public key fingerprints used for authentication
- Job metadata (status, timestamps, sizes, and conversion settings)
- Request metadata (IP address and user agent) for security and rate limiting
We do not collect your browsing history or data from other websites. We only access a PDF URL when you choose to convert it.
How We Use Information
- Convert your PDFs to Markdown and deliver the result
- Operate the queue and apply fair-use priority
- Protect the service from abuse and troubleshoot issues
Your documents are processed automatically. We do not use document content for advertising or training models.
Retention
Files and converted results are stored only as long as needed to complete conversion and allow download. They are deleted automatically within a short retention window (typically within 1 hour).
Job metadata may be retained longer to enforce daily limits and maintain service reliability.
Website Pages (Welcome/Uninstall/Feedback)
Our website is separate from the extension. When the extension opens the welcome or uninstall page, we record:
- Visit timestamp
- Standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, referer)
The uninstall page includes an optional feedback form. If you submit feedback, we store the reasons and comments you provide.
We do not use third-party analytics or cookies.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising. We use trusted infrastructure providers to host and run the service.
Security
- HTTPS encryption in production
- Signed requests and nonce checks to prevent replay
- Automatic deletion of files after the retention window
Your Choices
You can delete local extension data by clearing browser data or uninstalling the extension. If you want website feedback data removed, contact us at [email protected].
Children
This extension is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us for removal.
